November Newsletter

Dear Parents:

October 30, 2019
Dear Parents:
We have almost made it through a crazy October. Four weeks ago we were in the 90’s and today we will be in the 40’s. We have finished up the 1st quarter along with parent/teacher conferences and we hope that you have seen an impact in your child by having them here at WCA. Our staff here at WCA is dedicated to teaching Christian values and academics to your child. We truly thank you for putting your faith and trust in us for your child’s education.
We still have plenty of openings in our elementary school and a few openings in pre-school as well. Please feel free to let others know about the good things we do here.
Yes, Christmas is coming but let’s enjoy Thanksgiving first. Thanksgiving is a wonderful time of the year. It is a time when we give thanks to the Lord for all the Blessings that He has bestowed upon us. In the next few days your child will be bringing home an information sheet for our Thanksgiving Feast that will be held on November 19. Please fill this out and send it back to their teacher. We hope you plan on joining us for this special time. (PS It is a really good meal.)
Just like last year, we are planning on having some friendly competition between the pre-school and the elementary classes with the Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes. Each student will be bringing home a shoe box to fill if you choose to participate. There will be a memo inside the box as to what to pack and what not to pack. Last year we packed almost 200 shoe boxes! The students had a fun time doing this as they learned about helping others in need.
Our Family Night Out for this month will be at Wendy’s in St. Robert on November 7. It will be for the entire day but for the sales to count for our school you have to show either the flyer that will be going home with your child next week or show them the flyer on your phone. We will be posting that soon. Please, share this with your local friends and co-workers, every little bit helps. 
It is that time of the year when illnesses start to show up. Please remember that if your child is running a fever (100 degrees or higher), or vomiting, they should not be sent to school until 24 hours after these symptoms are gone. We don’t want to take the risk of passing the sickness on to the rest of our students. Please talk to Mrs. Martin or Mr. Hartley if you have any questions. Also, elementary parents just a friendly reminder to have your child here by 8:30 so that our teachers can start their classes on time.
